Lions Wayside Park, 4401 First St, Pleasanton, CA 94566

On the last day of school (June 14th) my daughter's kindergarten class met up there and had a "farewell kindergarten" party. A couple of the moms from the class organized it, mainly because they were disappointed that their school doesn't do kinder graduation.

They had set up a table for the cake for all of the kids. Some of the parents set up their chairs and blankets ahead of time. I wasn't on top of my game, so we just brought our stuff with us when we went there that night. We weren't by the actual stage, but across the street by the bathrooms. Seemed logical since we were going to have a bunch of 5 and 6-year-olds with us. Who wants to keep running across the street for potty runs? Not me.

Anyways, when we arrived, it was pleasant to see about half of the class and their families had shown up. Everyone brought their own dinners and just sat around and chatted it up. It was a perfect evening, not too hot and not too cold. We arrived at 6:00, I'm not sure when the actual music started. But we were all having so much fun amongst each other. The kids were chasing each other, rolling one another up in blankets and kicking a ball around.

Now I understand why people want to live in this city. Events like this, gathering with your friends and family on a nice summer night. It was a really fun evening. I'm glad the moms put the event together. I'm sure that we'll be back again, it was too much fun to not be back.
